OSI
TCP/IP
OSI stands for open system interconnection because it allows any two different systems to communicate regardless of their architecture
TP/IP standard protocols / Internet protocols.
It has seven layer
It has four layer
In OSI model the transport layer guarantee the delivery of packets.
In TCP/IP models the transport layer dose not guarantee delivery of packets still the TCP/IP model is more reliable.
Follows vertical approach
Follows horizontal approach.
OSI model has separate presentation layer and session layer.
TCP/IP dose not have a separate presentation layer or session layer.
In OSI model transport layer is connection oriented.
Transport layer is both connection oriented and connection oriented less.
Network layer is both connection oriented and connection less.
Network layer is connection less.
OSI model has a problem of fitting the protocols into the models.
TCP/IP model dose not fit any protocol.
It is developed by ISO ( International standard organization )
